how can i get on a trial?
 

Dear ladies,

I am new to your site although I have browsed it from time to time...it is excellent.

I wonder if anyone can help. I am her2 +++ and since January this year have discovered mets to the lungs. I have had a number of chemos during these two years includeing navelbine, gemzar, taxotere and Herceptin (took this alone while I had no evidence of disease)....which havent worked.

i am interested to get on to a Lapatinib trial. The main problem is that I live in Malta (tiny island in the Mediterranean) and we are not usually included in any trials!

My onc is trying his best and will be speaking to GlaxoSmithKline people at some stage soon.

Would appreciate any advice/thoughts/comments

Keep pressuring your onc! "Sometime soon" can turn into months... I have always felt that the patient has to push as hard (if not harder) then those providing the treatment in order to get what they feel they need. Keep after him!
