Quick question on DCIS
I know DCIS is tested for ER/PR but is it tested for Her2?
Thanks, Susan |
Mine was, but it might depend on where the path report is done.

make sure they test for HER2.

Hi Susan,
Have you recently been diagnosed with DCIS? Please read this article if you have and be sure to get tested for HER2. I was originally diagnosed with DCIS and underwent a lumpectomy and radiation, a year and a half later I am stage 4 with liver mets and mets to the spine and HER2 positive. I hope I am not scaring you, I just want you to be very informed so that you can have the best possible treatment options. I wish you all the very best and will be thinking about you. http://www.annalssurgicaloncology.or...t/full/8/8/617 Big Hugs, Nicola |
Thank you everyone for your answers. Nicola, it is not me with the DCIS, I was asking for someone else. I will certainly pass along the information and I wish you well with your treatment. It makes you wonder what can be missed during dx.
If the DCIS turns out to be Her2 positive, I wonder if there is an oncologist out there who would prescribe Herceptin. Now that's EARLY bc! Susan |
infiltrating ductal carcinoma her2 positive
my path report came back her2 positive 2+ fish stage I
herceptin was not recommended does anyone know why I only had radiation after lumpectomy and now arimides |
I'm dealing w/a recurrence in my breast right now...only 10weeks post Liver resection! thus far I've only had an FNA, but they were able to confirm ER/PR status AND HER2 status for me from just the FNA. This is the same disease path as my original dx- ER/PR-, Her2+++. Somehow, I feel a little better that I'm dealing with the same animal & not something totally new.
