mickeys mets

I will post on my brain mets update as soon as I have an MRI probably end of month. My onc, on the advice of rad onc had recommended a second round of wbr. I decided I would rather try temodar, xeloda instead (a scary chance I am taking). The only symptom I have had (if it is a symptom) is a tremor on the fingers of my left hand(BAD LYMPHODEMA ON THAT SIDE for years)_this tremor has not gone away in the four weeks of treatment but no worse> my onc would only go for this treatment if i promised to contact him if any problems show up> other than muscle tone loss from decadron< i feel great> No headaches or vision problems>walking an hour a day> Anyone have a tremor in just one hand.

Hi Mickey

Only while I was taking Decadron... all of my fingers kept trembling for a LONG time in which I also couldn't write anything for a few months. Otherwise, my handwriting would look SO messy, like a 1st grader, and it wouldn't be readable!

Sending positive vibes your way, Mickey... Thinking of you, so please do send an update soon. Take good care!

Tremor question

Hi -
I wanted to get back to you on the tremor question. No, I did not have a tremor, but did have a noticeable drop in the legibility of my writing. I thought it was due to the nervousness the Decadron caused.
My typing was also bad and my fingers were flying all over the keyboard! Had to correct everything! My brain was running too fast for my motor skills.

Will be asking the Almighty to allow your drugs to work. So glad you are so far without any problems - maybe this is a good sign?

Ps

Steph also reminded me of something else. I had trouble typing, too -- just like "fingers were flying all over the board", in Steph's words.

I have NOT been on Decadron since last year; although, I notice that my nerve system in my fingers is not quite the same... just a little weaker eye / hand coordination. I guess that is because I had been on steroids for too long -- I think around 5 - 6 months.

Mickey, thanks for the update, it's GOOD to hear you're feeling good on this combo. Walking an hour a day even, I wish I did that much! You're an inspiration, keep us posted and I'll be sending your name out during the prayer chain Sunday :)
