A lot of research is heading towards tumor devascularization or anti-angiogenisis, one of these drugs being avastin. A company called OXIGENE http://www.oxigene.com/trial.asp is developing drugs like this but work differently. Pre-clinical results on combining one of their drugs (CA4P) with AVASTIN have been rumoured to be nothing short of astounding.

As well, they do have trials for those who have run out of options, which is the attached link. I heard they are starting phase 1 trials with CA4P and AVASTIN but haven't been able to find anything yet.
