Side effects
 

I am presently on herceptin(every 3 weeks) and arimidex. I cut my finger yesterday and had a very hard time trying to get the bleeding to stop. It did not look like that bad of a cut. I finally got it to stop before getting to the ER at the local hospital. I didn't want to go to the ER because of my large insurance copay for that service. I am going to call my oncologist tomorrow, but just wondered if any of you gals suffer anything like this? I have been on Herceptin since Sept. 05 for Stage 2, ER+,PR+,Her2+++ bc. I never had this problem before bc.

I was told Herceptin was a blood thinner, which could be the answer to this. I have cut myself in the past on Herceptin, but have to say didn't have this problem.

I had never heard of this side effect from Herceptin. I will be very interested in hearing what your onc has to say about it.

I have had cuts since being on Herceptin for 2 years now, and have not noticed any increase in bleeding. I wonder if that's a side effect that can develop later, or would be present from the beginning.
