FORWARDED MESSAGE: New, need advice
THIS MESSAGE FROM A NEW MEMBER CAME PRIVATELY TO ME, BUT WAS INTENDED, I'M SURE, FOR THE BOARD. IT IS FROM KAYB.PLEASE REPLY TO HER AS YOU ALL DO SO WELL!
I was diagnosed with the breast cancer in Dec of 2003. Has double mastectomy. In Dec of 2004, Ct scan showed metastesis to lungs and liver. Since then I had chemo and herceptin for a month, then continued with only herceptin for 7 months, but began to develope rashes and my doctor said I had to stop. Recent X-ray shows no changes in tumor sizes. I don't know what steps to take next. I am receptor2 positive. I just learned about this website thru nice lady named Trish K., and not sure if I am doing this right. Please let me know of some options for my treatment. Thanks. http://www.her2support.org/vbulletin...er_offline.gif http://www.her2support.org/vbulletin...ns/forward.gif http://www.her2support.org/vbulletin...eply_small.gif |

Great that you have found this site. There is a lot of information from a large group of patients who have the same or similar tumor path as you have. Collectively we have a large body of knowledge and can give you some ideas.
More info would be helpful. Which chemo did you take for only one month? And why for only one month? I find this a little strange as that is not enough time normally to have the desired effect. Where are you treated? Is your doctor a clinical oncologist (cancer specialist)? Stay focused on this and get a second opinion if pssible. |
