New Year Poem
Happy New Year to you all!
Now at the turning of another year Trust God and have no fear! Boast not past deeds Nor grieve misdeeds. Before the cross Your gain is loss. Yield now your pain He wants to give, To heal, forgive! The past is gone he leads you on! The way ahead Need hold no dread For he is Lord! So trust his word! Place all your plans In His strong hands. Yield up your fear, For he is near! His hope is sure You are secure! He gives to you The time to do. Yield up your now Before him bow! Believe, Receive, And live And give! It is the turning of another year Trust God and have no fear! by Peter Blackburn Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2006!! Look at how full your glass is and not how empty it is. Thank you
Dear Sandy,
I just told a friend this morning that I was struggling and having to cling to God's word to face this new year with faith, hope and peace rather than fear and dread. (I was diagnosed last Feb.) Thank you for your poem, a great reminder. God Bless. |
Always on target!
Thanks, Sandy, for another "right on" message.
Maybe it gets just a little bit easier to face the new year as we go around the calendar year with cancer part of our life a few times! We know there will be ups and downs with the chronic nature of this health problem, but for the most part, we learn to get on with other areas of our lives. Measure for measure, we dole out our energy as we see fit and as circumstances demand. But, we learn to reserve enough for our constant healing process that we live with. Struggling to stay healed does not cause as much difficulty as we learn to move through our days, weeks and months. It becomes relegated to our subconscious as much as possible so we can focus on other things. How did your new puppy enjoy his first Christmas?? |
Thanks Steph for your addition to my poem. My puppy "Yoda" did just fine. I put the Christmas tree on a stand off the floor and so he would not play and break the bulbs or eat the ornaments. We just love him more and more each day. He brings us much joy. Never thought I would have a puppy!! How this disease changes us for the better!! We are going out to some friends this evening for snacks taking Yoda for the big show!! He can put one on for everyone. hugs, Sandy
