Back pain from radiation? Or something else?

Lately I have been feeling some discomfort between my shoulder blade and my spine. I had R lumpectomy in 2004 then chemo and finished rads June 2005.
Taking a deep breath is uncomfortable, but I don't cough. I am on Herceptin...
The pain is directly behind my R breast, but feel like its in the muscle...
Anyone ever had this? I have an appt in 3 weeks with onc.

I know I'm going to scare you, but I have to tell you. A pain under your right shoulder blade can be a sign of liver mets. I learned this fact after having the pain you describe for months, then having a CT scan and discovering I has bc liver mets. I found the "shoulder blade" info on webmd.com, I think.

Of course, it may be something totally different. But my advice is to call your doc for a CT scan.

Love and light,

Lisa

Hi Maria, I finished treatment in July of 2004 I had chemo and rads. I had a pain in my back behind my shoulder blade the Dr. thought it was from holding my arm over my head for radiation. Personally I think they fried me all the way tthrough ,I think radiation is very hard on our bodies I still have pain there every once in a while. So far so good I'm still here thank God
