Hi all her2+ Aussies
I am in the process of trying to organise to have a her 2 serum test kit sent to the land of Oz. I will probably be able to get a close friend who is a medical researcher to run the test for me. If any other her2+ Aussies are interested in getting tested please let me know and maybe I can get yours done too.

Hi Linda
The her 2 serum test is a blood test that can give you an idea as to how treatment is working eg if result is low that is good. See posts on this site for more detail. If I can get it set up I would like to get mine done on a regular basis...can give you an earlier indication if trouble is brewing somewhere else in your body. See Gina Popp's posts also.

Hi Jackie

I am in Brisbane and have been reading about this test for a while. I didn't think that it was available in Australia yet, or that anyone could get it sent here. I was hoping that it would be available by the time I finished my treatment next year.

I have asked my onc if there is any way to tell if Herceptin is working and he has said no. I am early stage HER2 + and I am paying quite a lot for the drug so it would be good to see if it really is working.
