glucosamine sulphate or glucosamine hydrochloride
Hi there
I went to the health food shop and left with nothing! too many things to chose from. Which glucosamine? 1500 a day? i know you can get it with chondrotin(sp) but there is also MSM. And how much chondrotin for a day? they all had varying amounts. I want to take it for my aching body due to Arimadex and previous back aches. Your imput would be appreciated. I am in Australia so the brands are different. Thank you all Christine |
I just made an appointment with an alternative medicine MD who practices out of the primary care clinic I visit. I heard her speak at a retreat at work. She said that Glucosamine Sulfate is the best choice. This advice probably varies by provider, but I personally gravitate toward MDs for Alternative Medicine advice as opposed to people without the MD after their name. My appointment is December 5th so if you want more info ask me after that date.
From the information I have gathered about Glucosamine, the dosage doesn't vary by weight--everyone has the same amount of _________ (I'm drawing a blank on what the body part is that Glucosamine helps). Chemo brain I guess.... good luck :-) Val |
re glucosamine and b.c.
I was also wondering if glucosamine was something that would be helpful to take if one had b.c. or if it is anyway contra-indicated???
I am also on an aromatase inhibitor (Arimidex), and I take Celebrex which has done wonders to reduce any discomfort. |
Hi there, my physiotherapist told me it takes at least 3 months for it to work, that was in January this year and I am still waiting, I am still on it because I bought a huge bottle and then they were 2 for one, I have tried a few brands as well, I haven't found it to be a miracle drug yet. I also fell 3 weeks ago and fractured my shoulder, and I take a heap of calcium but I still got a fracture, normally my bones can hack it but not anymore.
