The Results are In !!

Herceptin must still be working its magic after 6 years. The results of my HER2 Serum test came back at 7.1 It is slightly elevated from my previous 6.0, but my onc told me that this is normal.

More about the test:

More will test soon

Hi All -
I want to thank Christine for once again being the trail-blazer that she is so good at!
After the upcoming Breast Cancer Symposium in December I am hoping that more breast cancer oncs will get with this program and more of us can have this testing. I, for one, will be pushing for it.

Keep feeding us the test results so that we will have something to chat about with our own docs! It seems to be a great way for those of us who can't take hormone suppressors to feel really confident in our only Big Gun.

Christine,

That is GREAT news!!!!!!!!! You're medical experience is a true "guiding light" to so many BC survivors. Especially those who are newly dx'd and have found out that they are HER2+++. Keep the good news flowing!

God Bless
Cindi.

Question for Christine

Hi Christine,

Congratulations on your continued good health! I must have missed your earlier posts on this Her2 Serum test. How did you find out about it and where did you have it done? For us stage 4 ladies, and those of us who have or had brain mets would it show anything going on in the brain? Is it just another test that we should be doing to get a heads up on future mets elsewhere in our bodies, in addition to regular tumor marker testing? Sorry for all the questions, but this is the first I have heard of it. (Or maybe it's just that darn chemo brain again!)

Love, Kim in CA

Christine,

You made my day. Live strong! Thank you for sharing the news and thank you for making the serum available for other HER2 positive.
You are great.

Christine, such great news! And thank you for the reminder, I've been meaning to talk to my onc about this test and will bring it up at our next visit.

Kim, if you go to the Home page, click on Index, then Her2 Tests, then Serum Test, there's an explanation of the test...doesn't say if it's helpful in monitering brain mets though, hope Christine can fill us in on that.
