Herbal hope in breast cancer battle

I put this post in the article section too as I thought it was THAT good. Also, do any of you know if evening primrose oil is the same as olive oil? Thank you.

This is great news Rhonda! It seems that the good effects of curcumin are hitting the headlines on almost a daily basis.

Thanks,
Al

OK, I'm confused

Is curcumin the SAME as evening primrose oil? I already sprinkle turmeric on my salad, but was thinking about getting a bottle of evening primrose oil, but if they are the same...

My friend Al read too quickly: this is a new study, on Evening Primrose Oil--not Curcumin.

Basically, what my reading tells me is that what is good in EPO is GLA--gamma linoleic acid. You can get it in EPO, in Borage Oil and in Black Currant Oil. No info on dosing came out of this study, but the guy who did it is the same guy who did the Olive Oil study a few months back--Javier Menendez--and he's becoming a real her2 hero of mine.

As for curcumin, check this out. Scroll down to the piece on Bharat Aggarwal, who did the recent MD Anderson curcumin study. Basically he says that he thinks folks should start at 500 mg. for a week and move up as they wish. His take is that up to 12 g. a day has shown no toxicity.

There's a good one available that's made by Life Extension that has the most curcumin in it that I've seen. Look on iherb for it. Nature's choice also has a good one.

Best to all,
Jeff
