Anyone know about melatonin/breast cancer link/cyst on pineal gland?
 

I have just stumbled upon an article on WebMD about research done that indicated that a lack of melatonin has been linked to breast cancer. I am particularly curious about this because melatonin is secreted only from the pineal gland. About three years ago, I was discovered to have a cyst on my pineal gland, which they say is of no incidence, however it can disrupt melatonin production and cause insomnia, which I have struggled with. Anybody else out there with a pineal cyst or more info on this?

Hi Cheryl, When I was at Cancer Treatment Center I was given melatonin supplements along with several other supplements as part of my treatment plan. I have heard that the body heals best between the hours of 10:00pm and 2:00am while sleeping. Melatonin is supposed to be a good aid for sleep either taken as a supplement or the bodies natural production of it. It's not too late to take it to keep from reoccurrance, but let your doc know before you take it. Blessings, Lu Ann.
