HERCEPTIN now used for early stage bc
 

Hi all,
I am new to this forum, but would love to get to know everyone here. I was dx Stage II bc in 2001. My tumor was HER2neu+ but I never went with the Herceptin trial back then. Now that they are saying HERCEPTIN is effective against early stage bc, I was wondering if those of us who were never given it before should have it now?

Talk to your oncologist about it.

I began herceptin 4 months after all my chemo- some women on this site began Herceptin a year or two after chemo. Some docs would rather "wait" to see if you develop mets before they put you on Herceptin.

For me, being HER2 positve was enough reason to get on it. Get as much info as possible for yorself- only you can make that decision...
