My infusion nurse told me today that my liver function test was elevated. I had my 4th A/C treatment and will start weekly taxol/herceptin in 3weeks for 12 weeks.
any one have this happen to them, basically is this liver mets and she isn't telling me?
can drinking alcohol cause this test to go up? my onc allows me to drink 1 drink a day. never have alcohol day before treatment.
thanks for your help, the paranoia is creeping in again.

Liver Tests

Hi:

Are you receiving Nuelasta or any other white cell stimulant? When I received chemo with Nuelasta my liver enzymes, Alkaline Phosphatase, and CA 27-29 all became elevated. This occured after the 4 or 5th treatment. At first my oncologist was concerned that I had mets but all my scans were normal. A article was published a few months later that said some 17-25% of patients may experience elevated liver enzymes and Alkaline Phosphatase from Nuelasta. I was one of those patients. All my lab vaues returned to normal about six weeks after my last Nuelasta injection and now 16 mnths later I have no mets. I hope you have the same good luck.

Hi???
I was just informed yesterday that my liver enzymes became elevated when I started taxol with herceptin. This was back in March, they went down for a while and are now back up. I too am Stage 1, sentinal node negative, er-pr-her2+++. I did 4 rounds of A/C followed by 4 rounds of Taxol with Herceptin all dose dense, 30 rounds of radiation, and so far the plan is to continue with Herceptin for a year. I am going for a Pet scan next week , to rule out anything, but was told it is more likely from all the chemo...as all my scans were negative before starting treatrment. I am sure it is the same for you. The best thing you can do for yourself is to keep a positive attitude.
