"My onc told me she started patients on 100% dosage when the drug
first came out 6-7 years ago - and the first ones ended up
hospitalized with major GI complications, etc. At this point, she
starts everyone off at 60% dosage and adjusts from there. I am
currently at 50% and am told this is an efficacious dose. Of course
this is anectodal but my oncologist noted she started using this med
very early after its approval. "

Just FYI... I intend to ask my onc for the %age of my dosage. I just don't know if it is my lowest or just a lower dosage.

Ho Jojo,
Thanks for the info.....I've been on 4000mgs per day for a little over a week now....realizing it's still early in the game....I haven't had any GI issues thus far...time will tell. I'll be sure to let you know!!
Take care....Amy

Xeloda dosage

I began Xeloda at the 4000 mg a day dosage and ran into problems with it. Stomach issues, hand and foot, etc.

The dosage we ended up settling on was 2000 mg a day, still knocked my bone and liver mets out, and I didn't have any harsh side effects.
