We received this email today from Gail, she wanted to share the good news with all of you.

have talked to you on phone and e-mailed you. my daughter sherry has brain mets, w b r did not help. she entered the dana farber study about a month ago., she had nine days of the lapatnib and started having a severe rash. they did her pet scan at end of nine days and took her off the meds. she went back wed. for a scan report and reevaluation of rash and if or not she could continue. well, the good news is that in the 9 days her tumors both in brain and other areas of body had ]improved and some of the micro dot sized ones in brain at disappeared. that is strong evidience that it does cross the brain-blood barrier. that is a blessing to so many of the ladies on the site and future women that will have brain mets. they have reduced the dose and started the meds again. as of today she has had 6 doses and no new rash. it started after the 19th dose before. now she is taking predisone for past rash and will take claratin after that. wanted to share with the site ladies, but dont know how to post anymore. hope you and joe can get the word out that it does work. would e mail celina about her sister, but dont know her email. we could not get the med administered here in iowa. she flies to boston. she likes the people there. thank you so much for your work on this site. you two are an inspiration and great source of info. let me know if we can help. will do a donation.
