I wonder if you and anyone else who is using miltex for skin mets can let me know what they do, how it works( ie. do they go away for a time or do you treat ongoing and it keeps them small), etc, etc,. I am going to see my onc for follow up to left matectomy and chemo but would like him to consider Miltex for ongoing skin mets rather than continually using chemo's.

Hi Linda: Its good to hear from you. As you all know I am always happy to help if I can. I have been using the Miltex since January 23rd. At that time I had 3 small spots (size of pencil eraser) coming out of the scar. I was not ready to go back on chemo (had been off since Nov. 12th at that time the Taxol was causing neuropathy) as I had some left over Miltex and it was sealed so I started using it. My oncologist said as long as it was keeping me stable he was happy with it. I also am on weekly Herceptin. These spots cleared within a week by using the Miltex morning and night. Since that time I have had spots here and there around the scar line so I dab some Miltex on and they go away in a few days. I have even skipped a few days. Whenever I see a spot it gets the Miltex. Now, I don't know if all the spots are skin mets or not but I treat them as if they were. It is very easy to use, dries quickly, does not stain, no odor to it. It does dry the skin and if treating a large area (as I was the first time) it can cause cracks in the skin. I use a moisturizer cream in between the Miltex such as at noon and midnight. It comes in 10ml dark colored bottles. I don't know what that is in ounces. It has to be gotten under the compassionate care program. Lots of paperwork to go through. You can type in Miltex for skin mets and you will get the information and the necessary forms to download for the doctor to fill out. It has to be approved through the hospital that approves the trials for us. It took up to 3 weeks to get it here. Once the paperwork is completed and in their hands it is shipped over night by Fed X. However, overnight from Germany, I believe, 2 to 3 days here. Their time change I think is 6 hours so makes it difficult for the doctor to call as that only leaves a couple of hours to catch them at work. I was told by my doctor that they were very nice for him to work with. in Germany. I hope this helps. It seems to be keeping me stable. As far a cure well, there is no cure for skin mets. It is a chronic disease and stable is the best we will get. As long as I can keep off chemo that makes my doctor and I happy. It may keep the skin mets away but the rest of the body takes a toll. Thanks heaps for the info. I really feel like this will be my best option. Now need to set the wheels in motion. I am wondering if Lynn who writes here sometimes and is in Australia has used it.
