Ron,
I can really identify with you. I have 2 daughters 20 and 18. Both my wife and her mother had breast cancer. My girls were 5 and 3 when my wife was dx'ed so they are well aware of their risks.

As far as I know, there is no test other than BRCA I and BRCA II genetic testing, but his applies to only about 10% of all breast cancers.

I did find information on The American Cancer web site and have attached a link.

Warmest Regards
Joe

When my mom was diagnosed with Her 2 ++++ breast cancer I spoke with her breast oncologist about my risk. I was 38 at the time. She said that this type of breast cancer is typically not hereditary, I should begin mammograms yearly then not at the age of forty, and to do monthly exams. I have done all of this but it does make you worry. Anytime a mother or sister has breast cancer it does increase your risk slightly. But 80% of all new cases of breast cancer are in families that do not have increased breast cancer. Hope this helps.

My wife an I were told that because she was hit with the bc prior to menopause that our daughter is at increased risk. He also said that the genetic testing would give us a better answer as well.
