I am with the others....have liver mets still continuing chemo & herceptin but plan to be around for years as well. It is normal to be anxious around scan times - I don't know how we can't be. I know someone who is coming up on her 3rd year on maintenance herceptin and is NED after having lung mets. It happens more often than not these days. Try not to dwell on being stage 4 and start living again :)

Lisa,
I too am Stage 4, NED since August '01. You WILL
begin to feel more sure of your health as time goes by, but it does take time. I had to really talk myself into taking one day at a time, so try to make up a positive phrase, prayer or mantra
that you can recite to yourself when the fear gets to you. I found that to be very helpful, along with lots of projects, if energy permits. Time will heal.
Hugs,
Lolly

Positive thoughts and prayers are being sent your way at this very moment. I am also a Stage 4 (liver mets) since Aug. 03. Every tests terrifies me. Right now you are NED and should focus on that. Don't waste your NED days worrying about tests. Take one day at a time. I know it is hard. I was a basket case on Monday waiting for CT/Bone Scan results. Hang in there. God is working miracles!

Anyone who is Stage 4 is always thinking of cancer. However, to be in remission the way you are is so good. I'm sure your PET scan will be nice and clean for you. Saying a prayer for you as I type this message. I get my results tomorrow and am just as nervous.

Lisa,
Remission! How I would love to hear that word.
First, congratulations on that. Don't take it lightly; be thankful every day. Although I'm not in remission (yet), I believe that once you've been diax Stage 4, there will always be that little voice in your head. Especially when test time rolls around. For me, it has helped to focus on serving and loving others. I think that's why we're all here.
Glad to see you join our website. Stay in touch frequently. We have group chats at 9 p.m. EST, Mon-Thurs and noon EST Sat/Sun. Hope to see you there!

Love and light,

Lisa
