I have been off chemo for one year now. Haven't lost one pound and I gained 30. Not a pretty site. I bought new underware this week. I had no idea they could come looking that big!! And my pantyhose---QUEEN. I just started a new wieght loss program on the internet that seems pretty balanced. I hope it helps but starting slow and just adding a couple new habits. the address is

www.sparkpeople.com

Maybe it will help you too. The challenges just never end, eh? But we are up to it!!! Hope you had a good Resurrection Sunday! I did too.

On my first round of chemo and steroids after I finished treatment I came back out of menopause and the weight just fell off. I don't know if I will be able to do it again. I didn't come out of menopause this time plus it seems I just go from one chemo to the next. But I'm hoping since I don't have to take steroids this time that I can take it off. I'm trying to walk with friends. Patty H

I too gained 20 lbs while on chemo (it's the steroids). The first time I joined a gym and walked the treadmill 3-4 miles a day 2-3 times a week (okay, so in my dreams, I did more!!!). The bottom line?? (no pun intended, hah). It took about 3 mos, but I walked off all 20 lbs.
Now I'm back on steroids and managed to go from a size 6 to a size 16. Can't loose the weight so I have decided to just embrace my new size (need bigger arms to do this). I bought a bunch of new clothes and figure there are worse things in life.

Well, I would like to think its from the steriods however, I know mine isn't so for me it must be the chemo drugs or metabolism which is what I really think it is. I will just get my sewing machine out and have some fun sewing some summer dresses and skirts and they will fit just fine. Hug, Sandy
