Janet
My tumor was 7mm....very tiny, no microinvasion, Her2 3+, no positive nodes, no chemo due to the size of the tumor and lack of positive nodes...1 went to 3 oncologists for opinions. That is why I would recommend that HER2 + tumors even without positive nodes push for Herceptin....I am in a support group with a young girl, 30, almost identical diagnosis, tumor was 9mm, Her2 3+ no positive nodes, chemo 6 sessions with adriamycin, I believe it was CAF...and now less than a year later it is back...she just had bilateral mastectomy, and now Taxol and Herceptin. We just never know! I wish I had known more about Herceptin when I was diagnosed....I would have pushed harder to get it....I went from Stage 1 to a IV in a year and a half. Hugs Sheila |
