I'm curious. My markers have so far proved very sensitive and right on. I'm wondering if any of you with brain mets have had the markers stay true or were they different when it came to brain mets? Hope this makes sense.

My tumor markers have never indicated my brain mets.
However, they were 220 (CA27-29) when I was dx'd with mediastinal mets. And dropped to normal after treatment. Still in the normal range/scans back up NED. My onc admits his bafflement as to why this is so. hugs, pattyz |
My markers have never been elevated, so much for using them. Doc doesn't understand it either, I have bone and recent brain mets. My tumor is large, so I just completed WBRT and seeing the neuro guys about gamma knife next Monday. The roller coaster doesn't seem to end, but my job is to negotiate every bump and curve and so far I've done great so far. Guided imagery, Bernie Seigle and God have done most of the work for me. Prayers to you
