Least of all your doc!No one can make predictions like that! I was dx'd Stage IV w/extensive liver mets @ primary dx .After 49 weeks of chemo,(3 different combos)I am NED.After my last chemo I continued w/weekly Herceptin solo & my doc said "I don't have much confidence that Herceptin alone will control your disease" That was 10 months ago. As each month has gone by & I remained NED my doc has said she is thrilled and it proves how little they know about how Herceptin works & its long term effects.
Keep the faith, every day research has more to offer us and as it's been said here before, there are more Stage IV Her2+ survivors on Herceptin than Her2-!
