I don't know which one they rely on more, but I do know that 66 is a great score!

I had my 4th MUGA scan on Friday.

Do all of you get two separate scores - a computer generated score and a manual score? If so, which do your doctors use, and is there much variability between them?

I'm asking because my computer generated score was 49, but the manual was 66! 66 is nothing to worry about, but 49 is. The tech said they'd use the manual one first. Is there normally that much variability? Mine have always been closer together....I'm just a little nervous. Thanks!

I've only heard one number in relation to my Muga's ... but, then I've only had 2.

My understanding is the manuel number is more reliable. It is determined by the cardiologist after reviewing the test.

I have been on herceptin for over a year now. I ask my Dr. about a muga that yo guys are always talking about. I have never had one except at the beginning of this over 4 years ago. He didn't seem to think I needed one. Makes me kind of nervous. He did agree to do a MRI on my head though. Anybody else not getting mugas? Patty H

No MUGAs here.

I am not sure about the score but mine was low and I started taking the CO Q 10 supplement after chemo. It strenghtens the heart so it can pump more blood in and out of the chambers. Do some research on it.
