While I agree there are a lot of things wrong with the American diet, how do your doctors/nutritionists feel about supplements while on chemo and radiation? Since there are no studies on how these an affect one another, is it safe and advisable to take alternatives/vitmains/herbs while on such strong chemos that alter your blood, liver function and kidneys? Also, can some of these nutritional supplements render chemo ineffective? I'd hate to think that the chemo I am on with all the side effects won't work anymore to control the cancer....

This is a gray area. Dr's always want to be safe but I feel there is enough info out there to determine which you can take and which you can't. Do your homework via the web and research each supplement/vitamin one at a time. Look for sites that include .org or .edu in there address and not a sales site.
