Glad you brought them up short and jerked their chain a little! You are right that some of the med professionals expect us to be meek little sick people who are at their mercy. I have even found this attitude toward me by one nurse in the infusion suite. She treated me like I was in kindergarten and knew zero about what was going on. I let her know that her advice was ok, but that I needed deeper info. Whatever it takes to get where and what we need - "just do it." Too bad, tho, that we have to use our precious energy on these situations.
