I have never heard of a floater. Can somebody tell me? Thanks.

If a spot or shadowy shape passes in front of your field of vision or to the side, you are seeing a floater. Because they are inside your eye, they move with your eyes when you try to see them. I see one spot occasionally, but daily.
My husband has had this before and he wears glasses to read. I don't see the "floater"
when watching TV, talking to people, etc, only
when looking at my computer, paperwork, or driving (close up things).

Floaters are little specks of blood that comes from tiny capillaries that leak either from a trama, high blood pressure, diabetes, and/or from drugs that can weaken these tiny vessels. Some people live with it, and sometimes it is re-absorbed and goes away naturally. It uaually isn't a problem, unless it keeps happening. Ask your Onc about the side effects to the eye from chemo and radiation. Most Oncs do not usually address these eye sensitivity prblems, but know they exist. Decadron can also reult in a temporary high serum glucose that can cause this to happen to some.
