Anyone out there had or has brain mets with no other organ involvement? I was told that before it goes to the brain that the breast cancer will first go to bone/lungs or liver/lungs and then to the brain. I just want to be sure this is true. Can anyone dispute this? We were talking about MRI to the brain as follow up. Hugs, Sandy

Every one I know with brain mets got that after other distant spread. Sometimes taking 4-6 years after original treatment to rear their ugly head. Most were successfully treated. I have one friend who passed away as her brain mets came with too many other areas in her body affected and all the treatments coudn't stop the spread. It was very sad as she was a lovely woman in every way. One of those odd cases where the same drugs for organ mets worked for me and not her. I say this with a tear in my eye ...

That is what I was told it would go to the organs first then to the brain. Most always to the bone then to liver and/or lungs. I know there are exceptions to everything. Just thought I would ask. I rely on this board for lots of information and it has been very helpful. Hugs, Sandy

Well, looks like there are 2 that it went straight to the brain so probably there are more out there. I am not comfortable believing it will go to other organs first. Thanks for all your replies. I knew I could count on this board for information. Big hugs, Sandy
