Dear Ladies
i have been using cream on my hands but have just started to develop peeling finger tips ( am on xeloda - third round) . Is there any effective treatment? thanks Linda |
Try Avon Silicone Glove hand cream to protect the hands from further problems. Nurses seem to like it. Keep them overed with this. If it becomes inflamed you mayneed a stomger med. Ask your DR. You may also use topcal vitamin E ceam to help healing process.

Lindaw,
Sorry to hear about your fingers peeling. I am also on xeloda w/ herceptin wkly since Feb. 04. I have hand/foot syndrome for the 2nd time. My onc has given me a break from xeloda both times, 6wks 1st time, 3 wks this time. He says it will get worse & come back quicker ea. time. He may lower my dose, will see him Thursday. I have tried all types of creams and taking vitamin B6. Creams give temporary relief. Outer skin sloughs off once the peeling starts. I have not tried the Avon cream that Christine mentioned. Keep your onc informed and keep trying topical creams. Velva |
Once the peeling started, I would keep a facial cleanser with tiny scrubbing beads by the sink.
Rubbing my hands with it once or twice a day, helped to keep my skin looking a little better. |
