I'm asking for my cousin
who is just starting radiation and asking questions about her biopsy testing. I'm Her2, but my tumor was IDC, so I can't answer. Can a DCIS biopsy be accurately tested for HER2 and ER, PR status? Best tests? She's waiting on the detailed results. She's going to Georgetown for treatment. Susan M |
Dear Susan,
I don't know if I have the answer or not, but 2 friends of mine were diagnosed with dcis. Ones lab report came back HER2 positive stage 1, no lymphnode involvement, done by sentinal node and she went throught chemo, the other had a lumpectomy and had radiation only and was tested and it came back er/pr pos. How accurate and what tests I don't know. I am sure you will get more info from here on out. Best Wishes to your cousin and continued health for you. take care k |
Here's the only info I have about it so far. This is just the conclusion of the presentation for your info. The presentation discussed over-expression of HER2 in relation to invasive as well as noninvasive bc.
The clinical relevance of over-expression in ADH and DCIS remains to be clarified. Paper presented at the International Symposium on Predictive Oncology and Intervention Strategies; Nice, France; February 7 - 10, 2004; in plenary session 801 (Predictive markers & validation). |
