Hi Rosie,
I have never taken neither Gemzar nor Xeloda, but speaking from experience, I know how chemo can largely & extremely affect the body. Chemo can control the cancer better or keep it stable over time. However, the body would take good advantage of having a wisely-calculated break from chemo -- just to prevent from possibly developing resistance to the same meds over time. This is kinda like Catch-22, I guess... But, Rosie, you are in good hands. You just said that your onc watches you very closely, correct? Plus, we are here for you. Compare notes with us as well as a bunch of intelligent / experienced people (like 2nd opinions). Listen closely to your gut feelings as to what kind of treatment your body can take. Peace & hugs. |
