You've hit the nail on the head of a gripe of mine; fortunately I live in a town that is more aware of survival vs doom-n-gloom stories, so our local paper and news stations focus on these... but it is a shortcoming elsewhere for sure, and the more we can do to educate the media the better for all of us.
