Hi, I take the weekly herceptin and I actually don't take benadryl... no side effects without it. Seems like everybody on the board takes it for their herceptin?... Am I supposed to take benadryl?

I didn't like the sleepy feeling either and asked not to take it. I've been fine without it ever since.

I took Benadryl for about a year, then they decided that it wasn't necessary if you have been on it a while with no reaction. I've been fine without the Benadryl, so they don't necessarily have to give it before the Herceptin.

Hi, not normally, I take it for the Taxol, my onc told me the first lady to try Taxol had it combined with a nut solution, and she died from the reaction to the nuts not the Taxol or cancer. I insisted on having my carboplatin over half an hour,but my nurses don't like change, so when I wasn.t conscious they put it over 1 hour which meant I usually ended up getting stuck in traffice by the time I had finished and just wanted to go to bed when I got home....
