Hi friends, Respectfully, I don't agree with the above statement. I think it's worthwhile to test for Her2/Nue before recurrence and to undergo Herceptin proactively. I can only speak for myself - I was Stage III Dec 1999; was tested for Her2/Neu; and received 52 weekly treatments after the Adria/Cytox/Taxotere regimen. I'm NED. I have no idea if I'm NED because of the Herceptin. I paraphrase my Onc who stated back in 2000 that there was sufficient off-protocol evidence that Herceptin was proving effective for Her2/Neu folks before recurrence. |
