To chase out my liver mets I had 27 treatments of Taxol, Navelbine along with Herceptin. That was a hard road to stay on, but was worth it as NED now for 2 years and 3 months ... and counting.
My med onc said he would give me Abraxane if I should need a taxane again, since it worked well for me (as opposed to Taxotere). i would want the Abraxane anyway to minimize the neuropathy that I am slowly recovering from.
By the way, I also have been dianosed with an unspecified connective tissue disorder and am taking Plaquinil, which is successfully taking care of the inflammation in my hands and wrists. I am almost back to normal! Wonderful Rheumatologist I have. He was recommended by my wonderful med onc! Guess those top docs stick together!
