arimidex and high cholesterol

Of the few of us who are taking arimidex or aother of the AI's, has anyone noticied a large increase in their cholesterol levels? I have been on arimidex 15 months and my cholesterol, particularly the LDL is up by 1/3 .
I am a vegetarian who exercises regularly so diet and lack of exercise are not the culprit - it is not hereditory either.
Onc says that AI's can do it but lets see what happens.
I am going to be retested again but I am wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what are the options and/or suggestions

thanks,

Susanne

I have had high cholesterol for years...and my doctors have always been puzzled...calling it "hereditary"...well, I am the only one in my family with high cholesterol (and cancer...) and I really have always watched what I eat, anyway, I was told that chemo, as well as arimidex can raise one's cholesterol. Sure enough, mine went up when I started chemo. So, when chemo ended I started taking meds for that. There definitely is a connection I think.

Count me in. My cholesteral use to be in the 150's. After starting Arimidex and Herceptin it jumped to 230. Neither my oncologist nor family doctor thought there was a link to the Herceptin or AI, but I'm not at all convinced. I am now on Lipitor.

High cholestrol is a listed side effect on Arimidex's label. It is also a side effect for Femara. It is thought it is not a problem for Aromosin as it works in different method.

My mother, cousin and friend - all on Arimidex, have this problem and were put on Lipitor. I do not have this problem.
