Hi - I'm new here

Hi everyone -
I am new here so don't really know how things work here. I am a little over a year out of my diagnosis of breast cancer. I had to be taken off of Herceptin before I could complete the year because of dropping heart numbers on the muga. I had reconstruction done in March. Still worry a lot - I am a single mother of a nine year old boy. So - it seems like I have found the right place as the HER2 sounds like such a scary diagnosis. I look forward to hearing from you.
Karen

Welcome Karen,

This is a great place. This has been the only 'forum' that I actively participate in.

The women and men here are extraordinary.

Good luck, it must be difficult going through this as a single parent with a small child.

I am single, with grown kids-thank goodness!!

Be well,
and big hugs!!!

Hello Karen. I am the sister of a HER2 survivor and had bc myself over 27 years ago. (Didn't test for HER2 then). This is a wonderful forum of caring and knowledgable people. You have found a warm group and hope you will continue to let us get to know you. Wishing you well.

Re: Hi - I'm new here

I think Her2 is the good kind of cancer - lots of targeted therapies and a lot of pharmaceutical companies working on pathfinders that target her2. It is proven that the people who know the MOST about cancer are cancer survivors, so continue to be your own advocate and be part of our community effort to support, share info, SURVIVE and THRIVE :)

Many people change their diets and eating habits after treatment in an effort to optimize their immune system and change their internal body/environment thru healthy, whole food eating plus supplements, plus exercise plus something that makes the heart feel happy (art, gardening, reading, hiking, whatever it is that nourishes your soul). Basically, post treatment is all things that enhance quality of life!
