I got my first IT Herceptin today!!
 

All went well, still feeling ok. Oh it was just a wee dose but will stay small for 3 weeks then go to more every week. hope fully enough to get rid of the t-8 met!!! Yeah God. Talking about changing xeloda to Navelbine? I think I will stick with the tykerb though, it seems to have kept my brain clear. Got a call last Thursday about 45 min after my brain MRI to go straight to Barrows Neuro hospital, they had an ICU bed waiting for me???? Turns out the MRI tech saw the swelling around the ommaya and fluid and got it stat read, and that was 4 days in hospital, my brain and ommaya didn't like each other, caused swelling and luckily no other complications other than steroids, port is good and in the right place.

this was the first infusion of Herceptin IT in Arizona at 1509 AZ time today... Thanks to all who are here and have been over all these years. for research, laughs, cries, suggestions, and some fears, joys over milestones and loving others.

I am proud that you were able to push this to get done. Be an advocate for yourself and get them to a therapeutic dose level as we have discussed. You are great to have been able to get this done. Not many have been able to do so. You are a strong person, and now will make your brain strong enough to beat off this disease.

still feel tired i missed my nap time today. But no "side effects" headaches as such.

SO far so good, I am praying that it gets where it belongs and and does its job, the t8 tumour inside spine has grown. Onc and I debating going off the xeloda and starting Navelbine as well? Been off xeloda since feb for the surgeries any way, I want to stay woth Tykerb it seems to have kept brain clear since 2010

#3 down the omaya , hopefully increase dose next week! CT of omaya was good. A little back pain but I think it makes the tumors mad!!!
