Coughing
I have been having lung problems for quite awhile. I actually think I'm slowly getting better since I went off Kadcyla, but recently I developed a persistent dry (nonproductive) cough. I remembered reading somewhere that coughing can be a symptom of acid reflux. To test that theory, I took some of the Nexium that I had left over from when I had acid indigestion while on chemo in 2011. Back then it was obvious that I had stomach problems. This time, the cough was my only symptom.
The very first day, my cough was gone. One day I forgot to take it, and the cough returned instantly. Now that I've added Xeloda to the mix, it seems even more important to take that pill. The medication is now available over the counter in the US, but the OTC dose is half of the prescription dose, and it costs a lot more than my $10 prescription copay, so the next time I see my oncologist I'll ask her to prescribe it again. Thanks Amy! Now I know why I had a cough off and on during chemo. :)

Re: Coughing
Thanks for the tip Amy and glad you feel better, I've been taking Nexium since I finished chemo and stopped recently but ended up with a queasy tummy and a cough!

Re: Coughing
Very interesting. I'm glad you figured it out and must be a feeling a bit better. Coughing is no fun, makes me leaky.
