Hi there Amy, I really hope your port insertion went well. I know this is a bit late but for others considering a port,I have a slim port in my left arm, as opposed to having one put in the chest. I only found out this was an option through my breast nurse in Australia. It's hardly visible and non protruding, apart from a small incision scar others would not really notice it there. The pro's about having this type of port is that I didn't need a general anaesthetic as I had it inserted in radiology, it's also very easy to access & my oncology nurses say they even prefer arm ports, but most importantly it saves my veins. I honestly don't have any complaints about it.

I really hope that today went well for you. Navelbine is a push chemo. I have had two bouts with this drug. I pray it works for you.

Best wishes
Fern

Hi everybody! The port placement went well. It's sore, of course, but it seems to be healing well. I had my first dose of Navelbine. It's going to take awhile to get used to the Tykerb. Lots of tummy troubles. But it's good to be alive.
