Great, wonderful to hear from a young person with this disease. I think it is wonderful that movies are coming out about young people with cancer even if they aren't very good because it informs others about this.

Beautifully written and very thought provoking. I have felt an inner aversion to the Red Band Society. Exactly why I am not sure. Silly things bug me about the promo, like how bushy and full the main character's eyebrows are when his head is so bald. I know some chemos do not take the eyelashes and brows, but let's face it the bad-uns do. By the end of chemo I looked more like a child on a St. Jude's commercial then one of the kids on Red Band.
Now thanks to your brave and gifted daughter I can have a peace about this show. I may even tune in believing that she is right in saying that it may spur the masses to donate to research outlets. |
