A friend's good news
My in-person support group is for women with any kind of metastatic cancer. One member has had two separate bouts of breast cancer. One was triple positive, and it metastasized to her bones. The other was triple negative, and recently metastasized to one of her lungs.
There's good news, though. She only had one small tumor in her lung, and it has been surgically removed. They used a minimally-invasive technique, and she recovered quickly from the surgery. Her bone mets are not active. She's on a hormonal treatment for that. Her oncologist recommends a "wait and see" approach to the triple-negative disease. So--two breast cancers, both metastatic, both NED. Not too shabby. |
