Arimidex vs Aromasin?

I saw my onc today. I've been having lots of low back, hip, buttock and leg pain. Bone scan 3 months ago showed no sign of bone mets. Did show lots of degenerative changes. Anyway onc decided today to change me from arimidex to aromasin. I am to go off of the arimidex for 2 weeks before starting aromasin to see if my pain lessens. I'm kind of concerned not being on anything for two weeks. Have any of you gone off your aromatase inhibitors for a period of time? Do any of you have lots of pain from these drugs and does switching from one to another help?

Switching certainly can help. Also, do not be concerned at all about not being on anything for 2 weeks. When I started this journey, about a year or so afterwards, I had to have surgery (for something else) and had to go off 3 weeks. And my supplements too which I have a lot of faith in.

Cathy,
I am also taking arimidex and have been for almost a year. I did not experience the joint pain, or back pain you are describing. I noticed in your signature, you have been on it for 5 years. I would not think, it would be an issue if you are off of it for a couple of weeks. Especially, since you have been on it for so long.

Becky,
I noticed your response regarding going off of armidex and you mentioned going off of your supplements. What supplements do you take? I also take supplements and have found they make a big difference in my day to day. I take vitamin D, B12, iron, baby aspirin and idoral (iodine).

Becky, can you comment on your supplements. I've been reading a lot about nutrition and supplements and I'd be interested to know which you find helpful!!

Cath, I hope you find the right med and get relief. I'm not at that place in the journey yet, so cannot comment! ;)
