EMILIA (T-DM1 vs...) Clinical Trial in Central Texas

Just saw on the Clinical Trial page of the hospital website that EMILIA (Trastuzumab-MCC-DM1 vs Capecitabine + Lapatninb) is available in my hospital. Thought I'd put it here in case anyone is interested in participating.

Temple is on I-35, just two hours drive from Dallas-Fort Worth and one hour from Austin. Waco is 40 minutes to the North, and Killeen/Fort Hood is 30 minutes to the West. Scott & White is the teaching hospital of Texas A&M University College of Medicine and has 20+ sattellite clinics around CentralTexas. It is the leader of rural health care in the nation. One of the S&W doctors served as the AMA President two years ago.

Good luck Amelia.
Are you getting T-DM1?

No, I ended up on the arm with Tykerb and Xeloda. Thank you for the encouragement.

My onc still reckons this is an effective and tolerable treatment and I hope you are managing it OK. We have this trial here in England but so far my onc has had no patients on T-DM1!

On a positive note hopefully T-DM1 will be available to all and if needed you will still have this as an option.

When are your next scans?

Re: EMILIA (T-DM1 vs...) Clinical Trial in Central Texas

Ellie,

Thank you for asking. I go for my CT scan Monday morning. The spot in my lung just sits there. I hope and pray there is no progression. I can go back to Seattle and apply for the HER2 vaccine with the T cell injection if I want too. I just don't know what to do. Since the decrease in my Xeloda dosage, the regiment has not been that intolerable. I would like to be NED again. Last scans, I had them check my HER2 level and it was 35. In September when I had it checked, it was 52, so it has come down.

Hope you have a good day Ellie.

Amelia
