skin mets ?

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has had bc mets to their face. I had a little mole change and biopsied last week and it came back with supicious cells I also have a lump on the bridge of my nose that will not heal so now that has to be biopsied I am very nervous about all of this as I am almost to the 5 year anniversary. I don't know what questions to ask the dr. any thoughts would be helpful. thanks to you all in advance

Hi Leslie,

Sorry, I can't answer your question about bc mets to the face; I am in a similar situation myself so will be interested to see if anyone knows. I saw the dermatologist a few weeks ago and am going back this Wednesday to have a mole on my abdomen biopsied and a raised area in my hairline removed. Since I have had all three skin cancers removed from various parts of my body, I am assuming that if anything, it will be skin cancer again. I hope it is that simple - skin cancer sounds a lot less frightening than bc skin mets.

I sure hope things turn out okay for you and that this is just a false alarm. Hang in there and try not to panic. I know, easier said than done. Be sure and keep us posted on how everything turns out.

Congratulations on nearing your five year mark!

Take good care,

Hi Leslie! Sweetie, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. From memory, I think Lolly is dealing with skin mets. Maybe she can help.

Hi Leslie,
I developed a skin met under my left eye prior to discovering bc. Not sure what really came first. I hoped my chemo would have disolved this lesion; no such luck. I am seeing my Internist Friday to decide what should be done. I did not take this lesion seriously as I did bc. I have had this for over two years now. It is affecting my vision in the left eye and causing severe headaches. From what I read skin mets are as serious as bc. Let me know how your doing.

skin mets?

Yes. It is possible to have skin mets. I had some about 6 years ago. They looked like little bumps on my chest. I went to my dermatologist who removed them with minor, non invasive surgery. The pathology report stated that they were in breast tissue. Women can have breast tissue where there are no breasts. I was lucky. The other women who had them, but did not choose to have them removed experienced more mets in other places like the lungs, abdomen, ovaries, other areas of the skin, throat skin and face. I had them removed before they caused mets. I don't want to scare you, but I am glad I asked my dermatologist to take care of them.
