Question on Wbr
Saw someone's post on wbr on inspired-advanced breast cancer forum. She is asking whether wbr is a death sentence. Has anyone had wbr and how are you doing now? I hope to have some positive stories for her. Thanks!

Re: Question on Wbr
Is her BC Her+? WBR is not a death sentence, but there is some indication that it will need to have other options done.

Just bumping this up, in case anyone wants to share their experiences.

Re: Question on Wbr
Thanks Denise and Paul ! I don't think that lady is her2 positive :( but it would be nice to hear positive stories on WBR. I just had a clean brain CT scan last friday after dragging my feet for months. I feel very very thankful for a good scan result. We can't predict future or guess about past but we have today, and we live TODAY !
I hope everything goes well with your treatment Denise. Sending you lots of love and hugs (()) |
Re: Question on Wbr
A Doctor I 'might' get two years (8 months to go) I hope he is wrong. Let me know how you get on with your skin mets.

Re: Question on Wbr
I have localized skin mets on the same breast which has been regressing and stable on tykerb and xeloda. My Onco is still inclined to do surgery as he said we eventually need to do SOMETHING about it. He agreed that we can wait till next year as I told him I am switching to ppo insurance in jan 2013 to have access to more doctors. The surgeon contracted with my medical group under HMO is a general surgeon although he also practices in oncology surgery. I believe there is a difference in GS and those who specializes in oncology surgery. I will continue tykerb and xeloda till surgery then maintain on tykerb and xeloda. Of course I am still being monitored. If anything we might have to change plan. Sometimes I forget I have cancer and ironically I am a happier person now because I have learned to appreciate and enjoy life. I am learning to take things easy and not to stress out. I hope your mets will be stable and you will have a long dance with NED.
