THREE years post Gamma Knife

Dear Friends -

My report may interest some of you. I had my regular followup brain MRI last Friday.

It was Jan 18, 2005 that I had my Gamma Knife radiosurgery on two tumor sites. Nothing new since then. Had to deal with a question in one of the tumor beds a year later, but it was not tumor.

My rad onc always does thorough neuro checks and asks me various questions about cognition. He feels that I am doing well enough that we may go to SIX months between followup MRI's (from 4 months).

Let's say I am cautiously optimistic. I know these cancer cells are sneaky little devils, but I believe my brain mets are behind me.

Way to go Steph! I was also told that I can go 6 months between my scans, it's a little scary but at least it says that we are doing well. I am so glad to hear they have come so far in treating brain mets...sherryg
