5-year anniversary
I don't know that I've ever celebrated an anniversary here. But in any case, it was 5 years ago this month in 2007 that the bc advanced from my original stage 2 diagnosis in 2003. I've been NED for the last 39 months. BC is with me for life, and I often wonder how long the hitting streak will last.
This message board has been a wealth of information and source of tremendous support throughout this journey. A great big thanks to Christine and Joe for their efforts on behalf of HER2+ bc survivors. They have done a wonderful service for us, not only with the website but also their advocacy with doctors and big pharma. Love you all, Joan |
Re: 5-year anniversary
Hi Joan. i was waiting for your post. I tried to write a private message before but your box is full. I am happy you posted that your scans/mris went well!
I hope to see the same post every year with just an additional number. Many women on our forum are going through a rough time but today your post is sun in this very grey Parisian weather! Thank you for sharing. Take care. Michka |

Re: 5-year anniversary
Certain numbers become very important in our lives after a BC diagnosis. Other than tumor markers, blood counts, liver panel, and things of that sort, YEARS begin to pile up. This is a good one - congratulations!
You have taken advantage of each year of NED and made the most of your life. Living a productive life is the best way to give "the Italian salute" to canser! |

Re: 5-year anniversary
Your good wishes make me glad that I'm a part of this group.
I pray every day for a cure for cancer and that which ever treatment each of us chooses works well. I'm very happy about Pertuzumab, and hopefully the FDA will approve it soon this year. Another weapon in our arsenal! Joan |
Re: 5-year anniversary
Congratulations. And please pat yourself on the back for advocating for yourself and questioning your doctors and doing your research. You worked hard for your NED.
