UK Insurance - Sorry You're Not Covered

I saw this article and thought those women who are from the UK would be interested.

Thanks for highlighting this

There is a hugh problem with insurers in the UK selling their health insurance as if it were all inclusive and then weaseling out in the fine print. I had a friend who had a very long fight against AXA PPP over the funding of her 'preventative' herceptin, even though herceptin is only preventative in the way that conventional chemo is preventative. And, as the article mentions, patients with secondary cancer can also end up abandoned by their health insurer and end up relying on the national health service. The National Health Service is better than its reputation and handles the really tough stuff anyway, such as when Prince Edward's newborn baby was in trouble. But when people take out private insurance in the UK they expect a certain level of care that they may not get for their cancer. AXA PPP was paying for herceptin in France, but they said that the premiums were higher there.
